About Us
Made Different Initiative - Empowering Chicago youth since day one.
Who We Are
The MADE Different Initiative (MDI) is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization founded with a simple but powerful belief: every young person deserves the opportunity to dream, grow, and lead.
Based on Chicago's South Side, we work directly with youth and families in communities that are often underserved and overlooked. Through mentorship, community events, and direct service, we create spaces where young people can find their voice, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed.
Our team is made up of dedicated volunteers and community members who understand the challenges our youth face because many of us grew up facing the same obstacles. We are committed to being the mentors and role models we wished we had.

What We Do
Through programs like House Talk, we connect youth with mentors who guide, listen, and help them navigate life's challenges.
Safe Saturday Series brings families together for fun, safe activities including games, arts & crafts, and wellness programming.
MADE in the Community provides tangible support through coat drives, toy giveaways, prom dress events, and homeless outreach.
Our mission is to inspire growth, develop young leaders, and strengthen communities through opportunity, mentorship, and service.
Empowering the next generation to achieve their full potential by fostering personal growth and professional development, creating a community where every member is equipped with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive and lead regardless of their circumstances.
